right click bug for reverse-mouse?
Left and right mouse buttons are reversed on my computer.
When I primary click (right-click for me) on some attributes in the Item Attributes window it brings up a context menu. On the date fields and the icon field, nothing comes up, but on other selection or editing fields, the menu appears. The application behaves as expected when left and right mouse are normally assigned. Possible bug? |

Reversing the mouse button behavior works as expected in UR with my mouse (Microsoft Intellimouse Optical USB). I'm not sure what could cause that behavior, since Windows should take care of sending the appropriate messages to any application depending on how the mouse is configured in Windows. What kind of mouse and driver version do you have? Which version+SP of Windows? Does restarting Windows help?

Laptop computer: IBM X60.
2 mice: - built in trackpoint, using i8042prt.sys and mouclass.sys - logitech vx nano, using mouhid.sys and mouclass.sys OS: Windows server 2008 enterprise, SP1 It's not a bother, just thought I'd report it. Left and right clicking behave properly on all other parts of UR. Only Item Attributes exhibits this behavior. Just tested out Visual Studio 2k8 property windows. They don't do it, so whatever it is, it seems specific to the UR Item Attribute widget. |

Weird. The same component is actually used for the Data Explorer, Child Items/Search Results, Item Parents and Item Attributes panes.

Removed vx nano and rebooted.
Reproduced like this: - start UR. - open intro file - DIALOG: [note:file is read only], click OK - primary click (right-click) in Item Title field result below: http://hyperslug.s3.amazonaws.com/URMouseProb.gif hang on, trying something else. //edit: oh yes, red circle marks where I clicked |

I just reproduced this exact behavior using Windows 2000 SP4 running in VMWare 6.5.
Something else: - If I primary-click, that context menu comes up. When I continue to click it disappears and the field behaves as normal. Only the initial primary-click brings up a context menu. - If I secondary-click (left click for me) then the context menu ALWAYS comes up. Oh well, reverse mouse is a low occurrence use case anyway... |

Ah, I just now read the How to Report Problem thread right above this, sorry. Let me know if you still want all that info.

We were using the mouse properties button configuration to swap click/right-click, which doesn't manifest the problem. But we were able to reproduce it when swapping the mouse buttons (ala http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/788/). This is fixed in the latest download (UltraRecall.exe 3.5.4.5 in Help | About | Install Info after installing). Thanks.

Just downloaded UR Pro and verified that it works. Thanks for the quick response and fix.
