When you want to add Item Notes to an Info Item, you enter and format this information in the Item Notes Pane.  To go to the Item Notes pane, select View | Other Windows | Item Notes on the menu or press Ctrl+5.

 

Below is the Item Notes Pane in the default location (docked with the Item Attributes Pane):

 

 

You can format any text entered here the same way as the Rich Text Editor.
