My Outllook Toolbar has vanished.
I have checked the information given in an earlier resposne.
The following registry entries are required for the add-in to be "installed":
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ Outlook \ Addins \ UROutlookAddIn.AddIn.1
FriendlyName REG_SZ Ultra Recall Outlook Add-In
LoadBehavior REG_DWORD 0x00000003 (3)
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ Outlook \ Addins \ UROutlookAddIn.AddIn
FriendlyName REG_SZ Ultra Recall Outlook Add-In
LoadBehavior REG_DWORD 0x00000003 (3)
These are still intact and the Outlook.dll is present in the UR directory.
I have recently run Regsistry Mechanic, but if the registry entries are as described and the dll is present, could running RM broken the toolbar.
Thanks,
Graham

If you go to View | Toolbars in Outlook, is Ultra Recall one of the choices? If it is and is unchecked, checking it may show it. Otherwise, close Outlook and try reinstalling UR.

Done that, it is not one of the choices, so Iwill try a re-install.

I'm seeing the same problem. I'm not actually sure when the toolbar disappeared but reinstalling UR didn't bring it back.

Re-installing fixed it here.

Nope, still not working here. I've un- and reinstalled UR and also tried manually unregistering and reregistering the .dll but the Outlook toolbar's still not there. Just to confirm, it's not listed in View|Toolbars, either.

Update:
I just installed UR 2.0 Pro. I'm still not getting an Outlook toolbar.

Which version/SP of Outlook and Windows are you running? Please ZIP and post or send a RegMon trace of Outlook startup:
1) Download and run http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html
2) Enter uroutlook in the Include field shown at startup
3) Start Outlook
4) In RegMon, save the log and ZIP/send it
Thanks.

I had the same issue, and still did after the install of UR version 2.0.
I found and ran a bat file that looked interesting at C:\Program Files\UltraRecall\Integration\register.bat
I now have an Outlook bar.
BTW, Outlook 2003, Windows XP Tablet PC edition.

Tried that already. No luck here.

My toobar has gone again, I have tried re-installing and following the other advice here, but toolbar still gone.
Was there another solution found. This is Outlook 2003 on WIXPPro SP2 and its UR2Pro.
Graham
To reply to myself, a reboot has brought it back.

I've installed UR Pro 2.0a and still have no toolbar.
WinXP SP2 and all updates
Outlook 2003 SP2
Regmon didn't show an include field at startup but I think the log I've attached is what you're looking for.
(Sorry for not responding to your earlier request for this info...I just missed that message somehow.)

If it's been disabled by Outlook, see this for re-enabling:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms268871.aspx
If ActiveSync is running, close it and restart Outlook.

Some other possibilities discussed here:

ActiveSync isn't and hasn't been installed on this computer.
However, the Google links led me to discover Outlook's Help|About|Disabled Items button and I was able to enable the UR toolbar from there.

This is really wierd.
I've traced the Outlook toolbar disappearance on my system to the Palm Hotsync process which I run every other day or so.
- The Outlook toolbar is installed and running
- I load the HotSync process (Outlook is still OK)
- I run a HotSync, quit the app and start Outlook
- The toolbar is gone
- I re-register the toolbar and all works fine until the next Hotsync
I'm running HotSync Manger 4.1.0 with PocketMirror 3.1.6.0 and Outlook 2003 on XP Pro SP2. It could be a PocketMirror conflict as that does sync the Outlook database. I'l run a couple of tests to confirm.
Side Note: I've been running this Palm setup on my computer for several years w/o any problems. Why this would be a problme now is pretty odd.

Yup. It's definitely a conflict with PocketMirror.
There are four conduits (contacts, calendar, tasks and notes). If any one of those is enabled, the Outlook toolbar gets nuked.

I have the same problem, also apparently associated with the running of Palm Hotsync.
As a temporary fix, I have done two things:
1. Only launch the HotSync Manager when I need it, rather than have it permanently resident from start-up.
2. Keep Outlook open when I hotsync.
These steps seem to have worked so far.
My trial version of UR is also suffering from Outlook Wandering Toolbar Syndrome (see a previous thread). Kinook has sent me the registry settings programme, but so far this has not cured it
I really hope there are solutions to both these issues, because they're both irritations and my intended use for the software (which otherwise seems excellent) is to harvest data from Outlook and via Listpro from my Palm.

In one of the links posted by Kinook earlier in this thread, there appears to be an explanation. Something to do with the way Outlook handles the synching process when it is not open - it makes a copy of itself that "neglects" the add-in.
This is way beyond my expertise, but it sounds pretty fundamental to Outlook's behaviour. However, I have used other Outlook add-ins, including one with a resident toolbar, that have remained happily and securely anchored during a Palm Hotsync, whether Outlook is open or closed - so there must be a way round.
(I have wondered whether uninstalling all the programmes and re-installing first Outlook, then UR, then Palm Hotsync Manager may be a solution. But I don't have the time at present to try to find out.)
