There's a nice and powerful feature in Google, that when Google Desktop Search is installed - when a google web search is performed, links will also be created on the google search results page that pertain to documents that match query terms for documents that are already available on the users 'Desktop'..

I was thinking it would be really cool and powerful to have UR be able to perform a simultaneous web & UR search - and have web and UR results be available somehow in the same list.

If one is doing a lot of web research, and continuously saving a lot of clips/pages/pdf's etc in UR... the ability to know what's already in UR, and what's not becomes increasingly important and interesting.

That's why, with Google Desktop Search, having Desktop & Web results available for any search is very useful.

Maybe this could be implemented by having UR file/data exposed to GDS?

This may be of interest to Kinook perhaps by creating a GDS plug-in, or iFilter - because that would then be listed on the GDS Plug-in page, and would give UltraRecall a great deal of exposure to a huge GDS user base...

What do Kinook and others think of this idea?

A Google/IFilter plugin is planned for the next release.
