Hi Kinook,

I'm now, after delaying merging all my data into UR, finally using UR on a very regular basis. It is great. It is wonderful. It is also missing one important element: a proper calender.

I mean one that will appear, in the middle pane. It is a nice big month view calender with indications on each day-box whether there are items in there or not.

Clicking on a box runs a search and brings up all items (in the entire database) with a reminder date matching the selected day.

There is, preferably, also a facility (eg right click on the day box) that allows you to add a child. These children could be children of the "Calender" item (then moved elsewhere if required - the calender will still find them).

I cannot tell you how much I'd love to see this feature. At the moment my scheduling is really difficult to follow. Just one big list of tasks with reminder dates with no easy graphical layout that I can check with a glance to see where/when I am busy.

I think all the logical/functional elements are already in UR. It just needs a GUI designed that accesses them.

Pretty please? =)
Daniel

It is on the list. For now, you can approximate that by using the Upcoming Events item in the Search pane. By default, it shows the next week's events, ordered by date, in the Search Results pane. You can tweak it to show the next month by changing the date in the first row of the search grid to Begin Date less than 10/23/2006 (one month from now; the dates are stored relative so the search will always show the next month's events). Not as pretty as a calendar but functional.

Docking the calendar pane may also be helpful to visualize the various dates of events.

You can also customize the search as desired (for instance, limit the search to appointment items, sort by flag or priority within each day, add/remove columns to the results pane, etc.) or create various views by creating different customized search items. Search items can also be organized in the Data Explorer (they don't have to be in the Search pane).

please, could you add one attribute to calendar setting, so that I could choose what day would be the first in the Week, ie. Sunday or Monday (used in Europe)

Thanks!!!

The UR Calendar pane automatically uses your Windows locale setting for the first day of the week. This is driven by the registry value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\iFirstDayOfWeek

A value of 6 indicates Sunday; a value of 0 indicates Monday. If you set that registry value to the desired day and restart UR, the UR calendar should honor it.
