Hi,
I could really use hoisting now. It would so help me focus.
OK - how about this as an initial implementation? Don't know what others would think about it, but using the 80/20 rule, it would be a great start for me.
Let hoisting simply be taking a segment of the hierarchy and making it temporarily and visually the top level of what I see on-screen. The whole point of hoisting is to sharpen your focus. So I don't need to see anything in any of the relationship panes that's outside the sub-hierarchy while I'm in hoist mode.
Let the tab states persist between sessions - already suggested by someone else in another thread - this would be truly helpful - please give it your highest priority.
Then let me tether a hoisted view to a tab and let me "lock" the tab so whenever I'm in that tab, I'm in the hoisted view, and you'll find this satisfied customer an even happier camper. :)
Thanks.
Regards,
Bal
