Howdy,

This is a request to reduce UPR3's visual clutter. In other words, I am not asking for any change to how URP3 does housekeeping or any other behind the scenes task. I'm asking only for a change to what I see on-screen.

I make extensive use of the IA pane. But it is now getting very cluttered, meaning two things:

#1 - I need to simplify (nothing for Kinook to do on this one).

#2 - I really would like a way to pick and choose *exactly* what items show up in the IA pane:

. (a) by defualt,
. (b) by template
. (c) by item

I can sort of get there on all three. But I can't filter from view any of the attributes designated by URP3 as a system attribute. I hardly ever have use for these attributes in terms of actions that I take. I have no problem with them existing. I just don't want to be forced to see them.

Thanks.

Regards,
Bal

Something that I've noticed is that if you collaspe Category Groups at the Template level, they will unCollaspe when a new Item is created - seems that for a new Item the IA Pane will default to All Groups unCollapsed.

I just spent a few minutes fooling around with tools/options/attributes and am a bit confused. When I click on Lineage as an attribute, I expected to see in the Item attributes pane a spot for lineage, with a description of where the item was coming from /parent/child/child/etc. I don't see anything. Am I misinterpreting what Lineage is supposed to do? or am I doing it wrong?

Lineage is technically not part of an item (an item can have multiple lineages if it is logically linked in multiple locations in the tree) and will only be available in an advanced search and the Related Items pane (View | Choose Columns) if checked in Tools | Options | Attributes.

Cool. I'd been accessing the attributes through Tools Attributes...

This helps greatly. Much appreciated. :)

If lineage is only seen in Search Results, how can I make it a permanent default column in Search results. It works once and then goes back to the default.

From the Templates folder select the Search Item, right-click on any column title, click on More and scroll down the list to the System Group, check Lineage.

This will take care of new Search Items (they'll all be derived from the Template). For existing Search Items you'll need to add the column by hand for each, unless there's a trick to this part.

If existing Search Items are easily accessible you can multi-select and add the desired column(s) to the Search Results grid.
