It would be nice to be able to search for text in pictures like Evernote 3 / MS OneNote 2007 are able to do..

Then I would be able to add (and search) in UR, pictures of:
- Whiteboards during meetings
- Business Cards
- Handwritten notes and drawings with handwritten text
- etc

I now use Evernote for this besides UR, but it would be nice to have everything in one application.

what a coincidence. I wanted to relive one of those tablet/inking threads today as I read that Evernote released their API
http://blog.evernote.com/2008/10/01/evernote-launches-api/
but my old laptop has frozen.

Inking in UR would be great. Maybe a module like this
http://www.leadtools.com/SDK/Document/Document-Addon-ICR.htm
or sth like that could be added to UR to provide inking/hand writing recognition capabilities. Maybe it would be enough if UR could display and index (the handwritten notes) of windows journal file (well, if that's even possible ;-) ).

My next laptop is going to be a tablet, and I'm going to face similar problems as you. UR is too good to be replaced by OneNote or Evernote altogether, but I really don't fancy the idea of having too separate databases for my notes :(

Kinook,
any update on the following 3 years old thread http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=949 ?

ok ;-)

Anyone else here would be interested in inking/hand writing recognition in UR?

I believe this is going to quite important feature in the near future, I've seen that tablets are used more and more at Universities to take lecture notes or at conferences by business people, and once people get used to it, they won't compromise ...

PS:
there was a mistake in my post above, the link to ICR module was supposed to be this one
http://www.leadtools.com/SDK/Document/Document-Addon-ICR.htm

It's about $2000, don't know whether it is too much for Kinook or not, maybe the inking/recognition could be an add-on to UR which users could purchase.
