If I drag an email message from Outlook Sent Items holding down ctrl key, the message is copied into UR but the From field is blank.

One other problem is that it is not possible to see the email addresses of the people in any of the address fields (From/To) since the aliases are imported and not the email address itself.

And lastly the CC and BCC fields are lost.

Those fields are copied in my tests. Make sure the related attributes exist in your .urd file (see http://www.kinook.com/UltraRecall/Manual/fixed_field_mapping.htm).

It looks like the Message Form did not have them. So the only bit that is missing is the addresses themselves. For example, Outlook will show "John Doe" and when you double click you see john.doe@email.com. When importing this into UR, only "John Doe" appears. Or is there a way to see the email address itself ?

Not if only the name is included in the related email address attribute.

so there are two cases here:
1. external email addresses like gmail - in this case if you double click on the email address in a message you get a dialog box with four fields: Display name/email address/email type/internet format. Now if the display name is "john" and email address is "john.doe@gmail.com", when this message is copied to UR the field displays "john". In this case it should show john <john.doe@gmail.com>

2. exchange email addresses - in this case double clicking open a dialog box with multiple tabs and the last one is email addresses. It was these I was referring to which should be displayed in UR but aren't.

3. One more thing, for emails containing attachments is it possible to open the attachments directly from UR or is Ctrl-J the only option ?

1/2. UR captures the display value and not the email address for the related attribute value in these cases (the address would still be viewable when opening externally in Outlook).

3. You would need to open the message externally to view its attachments.
