Hitting F7 to spell-check text behaves so erratically and I can not make sense at all. Can you please shed some light on why is it highlighting the wrong text and on some text, it shows garbled characters?

Thanks

The first issue where the highlighted text in the item details does not match the spell-check dialog is reproducible. See attached urd file. It happens when text is contained in a table cells. Same text without a table, checks fine.

The garbled character issue is not.

I'm using RICHED20.DLL version 16.0.6925.1014. Is there a recommended riched20 for UR? If yes, what version do you recommend?
and ...
I use UR on multiple computers synced via dropbox. Does it matter what riched version each computer uses? Do they all have to have the same version?

I would use a version of the rich edit control that works best for you. We generally use the one provided with UR when checking 'Rich edit control with table support' (v5.50.99.2050) and unchecking 'Office rich edit control' (if shown). You do not need the same version on all installations.

Reverting to this DLL resolved the issue. Spell-checker behaves fine even with tables.

riched20.dll version 5.50.99.2050

Ah, I guess that explains why it wasn't reported before.

We've modified the installer to default to 'Rich edit control with table support' checked and 'Office rich edit control' unchecked.
