I included it in settings / browser / file extensions to display .... However, when I click on an item with a pdf attachment, It prompts to open or save externally.

What am I missing?

Thanks

I had to install foxit reader, which is free, to make it work.

I read the links above.

Why can't UR force the display regardless of the system default? Just like displaying rtf notes. UR always displays it in the editor and if I need advanced editing features, I use open external with MS Word.

Why can't the same happen with pdf?

Thanks

UR doesn't control it directly. UR hosts Internet Explorer, which in turn hosts a plugin to render PDF content. Internet Explorer needs to be configured properly for display of PDFs. How this is done varies by which PDF viewer you are using.

I have not found a way to force UR to display pdf internally other than installing foxit reader (the only reader that seems to do it).

The IE browser is now gone from Windows 11. So, there isn't a way to tinker with IE settings anymore.

If foxit reader is already installed, one can simply restore previous associations in foxit reader / file / preferences / file associations

PDF's are mainstay of productivity work and they truly deserve to be treated as first-class citizens in UR. I hope one day, they will.
