Hi all ...

I'm able to drag individual Outlook items from OL mail and store them in UR. However, when I click on an info item, instead of displaying the content of the message, it prompts me to open or download it.

Attempting to open it returns ...

We can't open "c:\...\UIt697A.tmp.msg". It's possible the file is already open or you don't have permissions to open it. To check your permissions, right-click the file folder, then click properties.

Even when I save it, trying to open it from file explorer returns same error.

I included a sample URD file to reproduce the error along with diagnostic details. Please download it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gkg15n37aa5vqlg/ol-msg-files-fail-to-open.urd?dl=0

Thanks

Left: Oulook msg dragged from OL mail window.
Right: Same msg file downloaded from copy saved by UR

It seems as though Office 365 no longer supports rendering within IE hosted within another app.

Remove .msg from Tools | Options | Browser | File extensions to display in internal browser view.

Removing it will display the two options to 'open linked/stored'. Is there no other way to display actual content of the msg file? I mean, No third-party plugins/controls?

Also, it appears content of these files is not indexed. UR search was not able to locate strings in the files. By design?

Thanks

Does this mean it'll work fine with Outlook 2019?

Thanks

If you remove .msg from all viewers, it should display using the Message form and rich edit viewer by default.

Another option is to add .msg to Tools | Options | Documents | File extensions to display in MIME viewer to view in text format.

UR did capture text for the item (select parent item and F9 -> include Item Text), and searching on several of those terms worked for me.

I believe Office 365 and 2019 are the same thing (subscription vs. one-time purchase).

Yes, worked wondrously :)

Removing it from all locations, displayed it in rtf read-only. Keeping it in 'mime' also displayed it in plain text.

This is good enough.

Thanks & have a great holiday season.
