I thought it would be a very neat idea to have google desktop search inside UR as it is essentially an IE web browser. So I discovered it is possible to put the google desktop home page link (http://127.0.0.1:4664/&s=3214127588) into the UR address bar and navigate to it as if it were google web search - that works ok. I can perform a search and get the result listing in UR - yup that works. However, when I try to create a search folder under "My Searches" by dragging and dropping http://127.0.0.1:4664/&s=3214127588 - UR doesn't like it. Nor, when I try to drag and drop a google desktop search result link, like a link to an email, or a file on disk - to a location in the UR folder tree - it doesn't like that either.
It would of course be brilliant to have google desktop in UR in "My Searches" - because then that essentially gets around some of the issue of UR only doing key word searching (and only of stuff already inside UR) - and of course if it worked I could drag and drop google desktop search links and organize access to files and emails and group anywhere in the UR folder tree - which would be truly useful additional functionality.
