moving to a new machine

I read the article on this subject but I'm a bit concerned because I'm moving from w2ksp4 to Vista Ultimate & am nervous about messing w the registry.

Can I get further clarification on this subject?

yes for example can I move my registry setting as described in the article from my w2k-sp4 system to the vista ultimate machine w/o screwing up the vista registry. I don't know anything about registries, etc.
