viewing pdf files internlly

Having read the help files, I know URp can view pdf if the user has Adobe Reader installed but I use a much faster/smaller viewer for pdf files so I'm wondering if there is an ini file or something where I can tell URp to use this alternate program for pdf. My folder type settings currently point to this other program.
Adobe Reader is so ponderous & this other program is almost instantaneous & free, too. (foxit reader) Thank you.

I use Foxit reader also and would like to be able to use it with UR. I think the problem is that Foxit reader needs to be able to run inside of IE. Maybe someone knows how to make this happen.

After downloading http://us01.foxitsoftware.com/foxitr...ader_setup.exe from http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rea...own_reader.htm, installing on Windows XP SP2, and adding .pdf to 'Tools | Options | Browser | File extensions to display in internal browser view' in UR v3, PDFs viewed within UR are displayed embedded in Foxit Reader (see attached image).

That works.
So from this could I take that Jarte (based on windows wordpad) can be used for all rtf files instead of Word? Jarte is very small & fast.

No, Jarte doesn't appear to be embed-able inside of Internet Explorer, a requirement for an application to be 'hosted' inside of Ultra Recall (which is supported by Foxit).

In looking at the the feature list of Jarte, what does it really add over the rich text editor built into Ultra Recall (which is even lighter and faster loading!)?

Tables for starters. ??? Don't know which version you're looking at, try beta 3

Jarte 3.0 final is out for download free. It supports tables and a bunch of rtf formatting.

Question is: based on Kevina's post.... can it be used within URp?

Don't know. That's something we should inquire about. But in case not, we could post a request for that feature to the developers of Jarte.

Sent inquiry to Jarte support. Let's see what they have to say.

Hi Jan,

No, but a future goal for Jarte is to be able to link Jarte to another program's editing window. For example, that would allow a person to write a blog entry in Jarte and have it simultaneously appear in a blog editing window in a web browser that is already at a blog editing page. The idea is to eliminate the copy and paste steps. However, I do not have a forecast release date for when such a feature might appear in Jarte.
