Thin monitor-docked note for capture

I would find it useful to have URP enable a thin "scratch pad" that docs to the right or left side of my monitor and lets me swipe and grab text and pictures from web pages I visit and bring them into the scratch pad.

I could then annotate these notes with the source material (i.e., the web page) in view and then at a later time, if I choose, put these annotated notes into various UPR folders.

We sort of have this ability by being able to have a URP item that opens to a web page and then using the Notes pane to do what I have suggested. But I really prefer Firefox to every other browser I've tried. Moreover, my idea would enable me to capture from multiple websites to a single annotation effort. So I see what I'm asking for as a significant enhancement.

Hopefully others might also consider this useful and could chime in. :)

We already have this ability, but you need to call another program. I can set up a document based item called "Scratch." I use CTRL-J and have a window to whatever program I use to open this item. Size the window and use it as I wish.

Would this work for you?

Just noticed that you're replied.

As a work-around; sure it works. But I'd rather have it native to URP.

In general, I think when most people make a request, we welcome the work-arounds, but we still want what we want as a native function within URP.

Hope this makes sense.

I know that you are an experienced user. In reading these forums I have found that many do not know about alternatives (native or not) that are already present to enhance functionality. Now I could be wrong, but based on past posts I would not presume to speak for a larger "we."

Hey Jon,

You're probably right. :)
