Cannot any longer write text, UR just beeps
 

I have just upgraded to 4.1b.
Now I am not any longer able to input text.
UR just beeps at me.
Any ideas any one?

Are you trying to enter text after performing a search with highlighting enabled? If so, there are some settings that allow you to override this, I think, or you could double click on the search result to open the item properly.

Is the database read-only? Does the problem happen in a new database?

The database is not read only. I can paste in new items. I can input text in an item note but I cannot any longer write anything all the thousands of places where I have been able to write before e.g in a Text child. It simply beeps. Hugely frustrating because it has essentially rendered UR useless. There must be something really simple that I don't see. I have merely upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1b and a.f.a.i.c.s my license is ok (it case it would get locked or something if I were to upgrade without proper support?). I really need to get this working again. Being able to write text so many places is a huge plus :-)
