Importing contacts from Outlook 2007

When I drag and drop a contact record from Outlook 2007 I would expect that it would be stored as a contact type item with the name, address and so on details filling a contact form.

In fact it is imported as if it is an e-mail message, with from/to, a date and so on. No address information is imported. The is a "Click here to open message" link, which, if pressed, gives a "Access is denied" error.

Is this a problem which is known, or have I missed a setting?

Thanks.

Let me add to this: the behaviour is the same if an appointment is dragged from Outlook 2007.

Graham,

When you are in Outlook, do you have a couple of UR icons (one's for sending as Stored (Copy), and one's for sending as Linked) up on the toolbar?

From v.2 Help:
An Ultra Recall Outlook Toolbar can be installed by checking the appropriate checkbox during installation of Ultra Recall (you can simply reinstall to add this feature if Ultra Recall is already installed without it.

That's what I use when sending anything from Outlook to UR, I've never used drag-drop cause the toolbar buttons are so easy.

Good thought Ken. Copying using the menu bar DOES work (though I then have to move the data from the "imported items" folder to the correct place in the tree. )

I think the drag and drop should work the same way, so maybe Kinook need to look at that.

Yes, moving stuff out of the Imported Folder is part of the process, 'course the other choice is to have your Options set to Import to Current Selection (Bold Item) - this might work better if you are importing mostly to the same location.

One feature that I've begun to find useful (not like it just appeared, but that I'm getting more comfortable with UR) is the Move/Link (Alt-L) function available from the right-click menu of the Data Explorer pane. This can be very handy, can be used against multiple selections, and it remembers the last location that you Moved or Linked to.

I've just gotten in the habit of selecting my target node before shooting anything to it - work habits are different for everyone.
