"Remove highlighting and allow editing of item text"???
 

Seems to be a new nag introduced in 4.0. Every time I do a global search and jump to a text item it asks me to discard the highlighting... too bad the highlighting can't be tracked as just part of the MS RichEdit ctrl's formatting... probably a reason why not, I guess.

An option to turn this off would be greatly appreciated as a patch release.. or other advice?

Well... Search Highlighting happens to be about the only new feature in 4.0 that I seem to care about... and I paid for it so I hate to give it up. Thanks, but really hoping for some kind of a better solution.

The search highlighting would become a permanent part of the item formatting if the text wasn't reloaded before editing. We'll investigate to see if it's possible to automatically reload on the first typed character.
