favorite becomes a button
 

I'd like to be able to take any favorite and drag it to a toolbar during a Customize operation for one-click access to that item.

You can't put them on any toolbar, but you can show all favorites by displaying the Favorites toolbar (View | Toolbars | Favorites).

I've used this method off and on. Problem is that you can't edit the icons and if you have lots of favorites, all of them are displayed instead of just a few. I don't need 1-click access to all of my favorites - just a few.
