We've had a few other users report this problem occurring intermittently; restarting Windows fixed the problem for them.
We haven't been able to reproduce this problem here, but we have made substantial changes to the Outlook integration code for the next release, and are hopeful that it will also eliminate this problem. If you're interested in being included in the next beta, send a request to

I'm unclear what you mean by enabling/instantiating an email item. You create an Outlook message in UR by copying/dragging from Outlook (or using the Outlook toolbar) to UR.
