Portable UR: saving settings to:...
Suggestion for Portable UltraRecall:
An option to decide where to store all PortableUR settings (or: saving settings always to UR's program folder) Why: PortableUR seems to detect the device type from which it is started. If the device is removable, settings are stored in UR's program path; if not, they are stored in C:\documents and settings... When I use portable apps on another computer, I normally first sync the usb-stick to a protected local folder first, as everything simply runs faster from 'C:\'. In this case, PortableUR acts like normal UR, saving its settings in a windows user account folder - 'nogood'. |

To my understanding, the download named 'Download UR Portable ZIP File' at Kinook's download section describes a portable trial version of UltraRecall Pro, meaning to me: it can be fully installed to a removable drive (usb stick for example), can be run from there, and program settings will all be saved there (nomally in the program folder).
About portable applications in general read on portableapps dot com for examples. Last edited by pawe; 12-29-2006 at 12:17 PM. |

We'll consider providing a way to run in USB mode on a non-removable drive. |

Cool - I guess I was hoping for a version that would run from my PocketPC. Thanks.

This is possible in v4.1 (create an empty text file named UltraRecall.ini in the path of UltraRecall.exe and restart UR).

thanks!
Great! I even forgot I once asked about this feature. So it is even better to see it in action now. Many thanks kinook!
