math / formulas?
In keeping track of a project, be it personal billing for consultants or a construction crew, it would be useful if user could -- for example -- create a formula property like $35*%x where %x = properties, etc.
So at the end user could focus on poject parent & in child pane with proper columns see: Project date/time start | date/time end | hours | Rate | Total Comments: Kinook, anyone? Kinook, I don't even know if this is possible although I assume it is but no where on your radar. |

I may be mis-reading you, but this seems to speak to the need for calculated fields (or calculated Attributes in UR parlance) and Summary Totals.

Yes, this has been discussed before and I believe that it is on the road map.
http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthre...&threadid=2743 Title attribute based on other attribute values If it can be done for the Title, I don't see why other Attributes couldn't derive their value from a calculation. Essentially, expose more database functionality to the user. |

(but in the same breath it has to be said that UR is already considered quite geeky in various forums, so I understand that maybe Kinook is trying to postpone such features) |

Still, I think that this can be implemented without putting too much strain on the user. When I look at the Import interface, or the Forms builder, these are nice solutions. Last edited by ashwken; 10-05-2007 at 08:12 AM. |

I can imagine UR is considered geeky, but c'mon when you're paying for UR *Pro* that's no bad thing. Personally, it's not geeky enough for me, I only bought it for outlining (Logical Linking was the killer feature), now I'm wanting a Forms Designer (radio buttons, check boxes, hierarchical list boxes and grids please :-) ), calculated attributes, variable substitution in items and attributes (using Logical Links, natch) - but hey, one thing at a time!
UR Geek Edition, anyone? Oooh, I know, a UR SDK |
