Is This URL linked or Stored?
Hi Kinook,
I have a situation here where I use UR's 'link' feature in my browser (IE, internal, or Maxthon), but UR post the document item as stored as seen in the tab title. However, the icon in the children pane has the little icon in the left bottom corner. Disconnecting the Ethernet cable still displayed the contents of the page indicating it is indeed a stored page. In the attached file, you can see the 'content' table with 'stored' and its icon has the little arrow. Excuse the notepad window in the way to hide the content for confidentiality reasons. Thank you |

The link indicator on a UR item icon indicates whether it is logically linked in UR, not whether its contents are stored in UR. Apparently, the URL you imported already existed (stored) in UR, and you have 'Tools | Options | Import (More) | Create logically linked items for duplicate URLs' checked, so importing again created a logical link to the existing item rather than importing again (linked) as another item.

Yes, indeed.
This item was logically linked as it showed multiple parents in the parent pane. However, they were in the recycle bin. Something I had not expected. Once I cleaned the bin, the icon updated without the little arrow and the item is now linked. This is great. I wonder how genius one needs to be to write the code behind UR if just using it is such an enriching experience. Thank you |
