Ok I lied about not posting for a while
I just gotta ask this.
I'm finding that I'd like certain documents to be stored internally and automatically open internally when I click on their tree nodes. At the same time, I'd like others to be stored and automatically open externally when I click on the tree nodes. These documents are not characterized by what type they are but by their content, subjectively judged by me. What I'm getting at is that there are external and internal documents. And there are documents that you want to view internally or externally, regardless of whether they are stored internally or externally. Does the product need to be modified to indicate on a document-by-document basis whether to open internally or externally? Is there any way to pull this off already - I mean without ever having to click on a link in the detail pain? |

One option would be to configure UR to display documents internally, and use Ctrl+J or Item | Open Document to open externally (and holding down the Alt key when selecting an item will prevent it from being loaded internally).
Another option would be to check 'Tools | Options | Miscellaneous | Launch favorite external with Ctrl down', then define favorites for the documents you'll open externally, and use Ctrl+favorite (keystroke/menu/toolbar item) to open the favorite item's document externally (select other items as usual or open the favorite without Ctrl down to open internally). http://www.kinook.com/UR/Manual/option_miscdialog.htm |
