improve the categories interface
Hi,
I think that the current categories functions in URP35 are superb. But the interface is really clunky relative to the function. I'd like to suggest that instead of a dialog which lists the categories in relatively large fonts, that you provide an interface that shows all the categories in a highly scannable format - a kind of "smooth surface." I've rendered an image for you to consider here: http://balsimon.com/temp/showkinook/ As you can see, I envision color coding for hierarchies, but that's just a nice-to-have. The real meat of it is that I can see lots of categories reading left to right and so forth. Very easy to scan. Very easy to select those I want. And then in the second part of the drawing, if one or more categories is associated with an item, then a *persistent* tooltip appears showing maybe the first 2 or 3 categories , and double-clicking the tooltip opens the smooth surface to let me see and select anew. Doable? Thoughts? This would help me manage my information even easier than I do now. Thanks for your time. Regards, Bal |
