Choose item parent
The Item Parents Pane shows one of the parents in bold and if you click on Go up One Level UR goes up to the level that's in bold. Sometimes it would be really useful if you could change which parent is shown in bold so that you can easily go to that parent item. I'd find that really useful when I want to unlink an item from a particular parent.

The bolded one is the parent of the selected link (UR does have to pick one if a search result is selected and no columns are being displayed which would cause all links to be included as separate rows [i.e., hierarchy, parent title, etc.). To navigate to a different parent, double-click (or select and press Enter) on it. You can check 'Tools | Options | Grids | Expand all parents when loading' to avoid expanding to show a parent before double-clicking.

Yes, sorry, I know you can do that. I got a bit tied up with my previous post. What I really meant to say was, it would be helpful if you could change the parent that is in bold so that when you delete the item it unlinks it from the parent you've chosen.

Double-click the desired parent, then delete it.

If you double-click the parent in the parent items pane then that takes you to the parent. You then have to try and find the original item you were looking at before you delete; otherwise, simply deleting would actually delete the parent. It can take quite a while to find the item you want to delete after you've double-clicked the parent if there are a lot of child items for the parent.

yes, it would be nice to be able to "unlink" in the parents pane in case there is more than one parent.
Maybe by "deleting" one of the parents in the parent pane, or by right-clicking on the chosen parent in the parent pane and choosing "unlink" (which would remove that parent from the parents pane) |

Deleting of links from the Item Parents pane is available in UR v4.
