Clearing Quick Search entries
Hi:
I am using URP 3.5.4.7. I try to remove all entries from the Quick Search combo, but cannot (Options|Search/Reminders|Remove All). Restaring does not remove the entries. Is there something I am missing? Thank you. Jon |

It appears that Remove All doesn't work if the list was not added to during the current session. Either initiate a new quick search (to add to the list) and then Remove All, or manually clear the list by exiting UR and deleting the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kinook Software\Ultra Recall\Settings\QuickSearch.

Thanks. Will this be fixed?

Yes, but not a high priority since there are two workarounds.

No, unless you're running UR from a USB drive (then they would be in Options.ini in the same path as UltraRecall.exe).

Me either. Was UR definitely not running when deleting the registry key?

I delete the entire key and fire up UR again. Two observations. First, alll of the entries are still present, even those I just deleted from the registry. Second, unlike before, I can now add to the list. But I cannot delete the list. Does it also exist within the database? This seems unlikely as the same list appears acrosss all my databases. Jon |

One more related question, please. While experimenting with this problem I typed "EEEEEEEEEEEE" (no quotes) in the quick search box. It turned up a bizillion hits which is not true. I then ticked "Match whole words" with the same results. Why?
By the way, I just added this stupid entry to my list and can't get rid of it! Jon |

1) The info from Help | About | Install Info 2) Run RegEdit and export the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kinook Software\Ultra Recall" 3) A screen shot showing the list containing items not in the registry Quote:
http://www.kinook.com/UltraRecall/Ma..._generated.htm You don't have to wait for the search to complete (cancel the search, select another item, or type in a different search). You could still search (unindexed) for such words in item text by doing an advanced search of Item Text matches wildcard *eeee*. http://www.kinook.com/UltraRecall/Ma...rasesearch.htm |

Sorry for the delay, but I had trouble accessing your site.
Registry export. By the way, the two items listed in the quick search key are NOT PRESENT in the quick search dropdown box. There is something wrong here. |

Can you search your registry for a search phrase that is in the list but not under the QuickSearch registry key? Are you possibly running UR in some compatibility mode (shortcut properties -> Compatibility) that could be causing a registry redirect?
