Collapse trees shortcut key
It would be nice at times to be able to collapse the entire tree in views such as the Project Steps, Subroutine Steps, and so on to show just the root items.
Icing would be to have the state of the various trees persistent so that they are shown in their last state the next time the project is opened. |

Ctrl+Shift+1 - 5 (or Step | Show | <level> on the menu). There's also a related user option 'Project View | Step levels to expand when opening projects.'
The difficulty with persisting the expand/collapse state of steps is that when you build in the GUI app, each built step's parent will get expanded (to show as the current step), then the user will be prompted to save changes on exit, and if saved all steps will be persisted expanded. |

Ctrl+Shift+1 - 5
Ok, I like that. Why is it I never spot these things myself? Perhaps I need to read the manual again! :-) when you build in the GUI app, each built step's parent will get expanded ... Hmm... don't expand the steps? as a option maybe? Ok, I can see how this gets into very low reward territory fairly quickly. Alternative idea: Allow the user to set a default expansion level on project open. |

Um, there's also a related user option 'Project View | Step levels to expand when opening projects' (am I in an echo chamber? :^).

Arrgh!
I guess I go through that sort of stuff when I first get a new product and "get it right", then never revisit it. I'll go through all the preferrences right now and never bother you with feature requests for stuff you've already done again. :-) |
