searching across URDs

I think I asked this question once but don't remember the answer. Also noticed it was asked in July but didn't see a response.

Zoot has excellent cross DB search capablility, i.e. global. Currently I have everything in one DB but thinking about splitting data out to other DBs.

Is a cross search or global search (like Milenix MyInfo) being considered for URp? Thank you.

It is on the list, but there's no firm estimate of which release it will be in at this time.

Hi,

The need for multi-database searches has come up for me again. I noticed that this functionality is way low on the roadmap.

*PLEASE* consider moving it to near the top of the list. It's critical to being able to find what you need when you need it.

Either that or make it so that 3rd party searchware like Google Desktop or Copernic Desktop can search within URD files.

Having to manually go through the many URD archives that I've got to find the needle in the haystack is annoying.

One other possible alternative (if multi-db searches is too big a task) - let me independently lock the names of the tabs so that I can at least simulate independent databases through hoisting and name-locking.

However, I think the most elegant and useful solution would be multi-db searches.

Again - this is really low on the roadmap and in this user's view, it should be the foremost fantastic future feature on the list.

Regards,
Bal

I too would find multi-db searches VERY useful.

Also if Link Move Copy could be made to work between multi-db it would certainly speed my work up and i think others would find it useful as well.

MyInfo allow allows cross-db searching AND it highlights the results. Very useful
