"white holes" - errors in capturing webpages
I tested v.5 if there were some gains in capturing from the clipboard a selection of web pages.
I did not find something new: there are some pages that hung up UR, as I wrote in a previous post. Now I found a really strange behaviour with this (relative) simple page (it is the same also with v.4.2): http://mathworld.wolfram.com/ClosedInterval.html A selection of the definition is copied ok from IE to UR, yet there is a "white hole" frame with no image at some point. The attachment should clarify. Is there an explanation or a fix? Strange enough, if that image is copied individually it pastes ok. Thanks for any feedback |

Works ok here from IE 9 to UR 5...I tried both pasting the page and copying just the definition to new items....both rendered normally (without holes) in UR for me...

Thanks for the feedback.
I re-tested with IE8 and IE6 and both gave the same described problem. I should say that I try to paste the selection of the definition, not the whole page. The OS is WinXP SP3, so I cannot test with IE9. It works instead with FireFox v.3.6.x UR v. 5 and 4.2 are portable. Last edited by Anthony; 07-09-2012 at 03:43 PM. |

In my tests w/ IE8 on Win XP SP3, both UR v4.2b and v5.0 don't capture one of the images when copying that area of that web page (copying the entire page does work, as well as copying the selection w/ Firefox 13.0.1). With IE9 on Win7, both versions do capture all images in all cases. Apparently something odd with what IE8 and earlier put on the clipboard for that page.

Thanks! What looks strange enough is that if one tries to copy from ie6/8 to MS Word 2003 or later (which also uses html) the missing image is pasted ok.
