UR 4.0 is Here!
I just downloaded, installed, and purchased UR 4.0. As an upgrade, it's admittedly not flashy, but it offers some very useful additions and needed improvements.
Unlike all the other PIMs I have struggled with over the past decade or so (AskSam comes immediately to mind), UR has never let me down. Now I use it as a multipurpose storage bin where I dump or link all my stuff: pdfs, docs, weblinks, wiki pages, notes, you name it. If there is one thing lacking it's a new series of online videos. UR once attempted to get a contest going (users would submit their screencasts and win an upgrade or something), but it petered out, thanks partially to the current economic crisis affecting all software developers. Still, it is somewhat disconcerting to find out a very useful tip or trick mentioned almost offhandedly by kinook (in their almost always prompt albeit terse answers to users' questions) and buried in the forums. And as for UR 5.0, how about some sort of ConnectedText-type visual representation feature? Last edited by tfjern; 08-04-2009 at 08:38 AM. |

Woohoo! Nice surprise. I thought all development had ceased and haven't been in the forums in a while. Will have to install it in a virtual machine and check it out!

Hey all. Quick question. Does UR 4.0 require administrator rights to install? I'm using 3.5e and my company removed AR from all our computers. Am I forever frozen @ 3.5e?
