How Can I Rename .urd File And Without Invalidating Links?

I use links within a single db and between urd databases. I also use links to external files on local disk. In more than one occasion, the location of these external files (including .urd names and locations) change. This causes all these links to invalidate.

Is there a way to have UR use a global virtual directory (set within UR options) so that if any of these file path/name changes, I only need to update this virtual directory without having to fix every link individually?
