Visual Build 7.7 compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2?

With Visual Build Pro 7.7a running on Windows Server 2012 R2, When I open a .bld script it is always in read-only mode.

Mouse hover does not work
Right click does not work
cannot expand or collapse steps tree
Macros and Actions are grayed out.

I did suspect a permissions issue, but I can edit the file with NotePad++. I can also edit a project script and save the file with VisualBuild.

Visual Build Pro v8.0 was the first version with support for Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012.

Is this a bug or by design?

For future reference, are versions of visual build tied to OS versions?

I'm pretty surprised that that much was broken

This is going to kind of derail things in my current project. If this is a requirement I would like to know so I don't repeat the mistake..

It was not intentional (on our part), but the 3rd party tree component used in Visual Build has required an update with major Windows releases. There have also been quite a few new features and enhancements with major releases of Visual Build. Not sure why it would derail your project. If you upgraded Windows Server, also upgrading Visual Build is a minor additional cost.
