Startup option does work

Hello,

the option "Minimize application window at startup" does not work after a windows restart. For other options see at attached "Options.txt".

Best regards,
Dirk

That works as expected here, testing on Win XP SP3 w/ UR Pro 4.1c and your options settings. Do you possibly have a shortcut to UR or a .urd file in the Start Menu Startup folder?

Very strange!? (Tested version: 4.1c Win XP PRO SP3)

I do not have a shortcut to UR or a .urd file in the Start Menu Startup folder.

Did you restart windows with my option settings and least one active UR database? Only then the problem occurs.

Best regards,
Dirk

Yes. Can you send or post a screen shot of the Logon tab of Autoruns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx)? Thanks.

Nothing seems out of the ordinary. I'm not really sure why it doesn't honor that option for you.

Try unchecking the 'Run UR when Windows starts up' option in UR, restart Windows, and see if UR starts (and if minimized). If it doesn't start, try adding a shortcut to UR to the Start Menu Startup folder (drag/drop from the desktop or Ultra Recall start menu folder) and restart Windows.

I tried the unchecking it in UR's options and then putting the shortcut into my startup folder and unfortunately same result of it starting up NOT minimized... Not sure what else to try....

Possibly this: http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthre...?threadid=1597

Set the value larger than the number of seconds from entering your logon password until UR is displayed * 1000.

For me this last suggestion seems to work the best. I put in like a 20sec delay which may be a little extreme but I figured that would be more than enough time for all the startup processes to settle down and still be ready when I need it.

Startup Not Minimized

How come, if I have UR set to "Run at Windows Startup" and "Minimize application at startup" UR always starts up open?

Shouldn't it be minimized (to the tray)?

Regards,
Chuck Billow
