completely unable to open office docs inside UR
I am completely unable to open office docs inside UR!
This has been the case, if I remember correctly, ever since V3. Its not that I don't know how to do this - I have been using UR since its first V1 release - and it used to be fine - no problems. And even though I believe all the options for doing this are set correctly. Powerpoints, spreadsheets, and Word docs always only open in their native Microsoft application window. This is the case whether the file is Office 2000, Office 2003, or Office 2007 format. Any ideas - anyone else having this problem? I sent a separate email to Kinook support, but haven't heard back yet... |

My apologies - indeed you did respond to my email.
And thank you for knowing such obscure settings in windows: If the document still opens externally after configuring the above setting, ensure that Windows/IE is configured to edit the documents within the browser: Start Explorer (Win+E), select Tools | Folder Options | File Types, navigate to the extension (i.e., DOC) in the list, and select it. Click Advanced, if the 'Browse in same window' checkbox is not checked, check it. That did the trick... Thanks again... |
