URL links to UR

Have you looked at adding support for URL links to UR? Essentially something like what outlook supports so you can have a link like:

ultrarecall:/a/path/to/something/in/UR

This URL can then be pasted in documents, notes, and so forth. It's a powerfull, but simple basis for support inter-linking.

It also can be the basis for supporting working with MSN and Google Desktop search. You could write an Ifilter than makes the document content available with the UR URL to take them to right place in UR.

FYI, The latest version of MyInfo has this. They call it "Global Links".

Thanks,

d

Can you point me to a reference regarding "Global links" in MyInfo? It doesn't seem to be in any official version (see http://www.milenix.com/myinfo-whatsnew.php ); are you referring to a beta?

TIA

It may have been a beta, but its now listed at the link you describe:

"Link to MyInfo documents and topics
MyInfo 3.50 allows you to link to MyInfo documents and topics from any Windows application that supports hyperlinks. This is especially handy when you need quick access you a specified document from your project management tool or in the report you are writing in Ms Word."
