Unable to Paste a doc into Outlook (copied from UR v3.0.4)
When I attempt to copy and paste a doc from UR v3.0.4 into Outlook 2003 it get two error notices.
First an alert box titled "Microsoft Office Outlook" pops up and says "Error occurred during creation of active-x control" [OK] After clicking that OK box, another alert box pops up (same title) that says "Cannot create attachments. The operation failed [OK]. Any suggestions |

Where in Outlook are you pasting?

Into the body of an email message.

Our tests do not duplicate the error message you receive, but neither does it accomplish what I assume you are expecting (to paste the stored word document?).
I would recommend as an alternative to instead use File | Send from the menu in Ultra Recall which initiates a new email with the document attached... This is the same sequence you would use from MS Word itself... |

Using File | Send also fails.
I get two new alert boxes 1) Microsoft Office Outlook "The operation failed" [OK] then 2) Ultra Recall Professional "Send Mail failed to send Message" [OK] |

Does it work to "drag" the MS Word item to Windows Explorer?
If so, does it work to then drag the word doc from Windows Explorer to Outlook? |

Yes, that works. But it's a three step process with an extra file to delete afterwards.

Thunderbird is nice, but I use the full Outlook PIM features.

yes...Sunbird now in version 0.3.1...slowly it develops...
Actually, I had considered leaving Outlook until Kinook came along with URp3.0 all the new Outlook linking features...which are working well for me. When I get a decent calendar and good syncing with a portable device, I'll be gone... I was even considering leaving the MS OS altogether until I discovered UR.... Kinook should get a commission from M$. |

but I'd still like to see UR to get much less dependent on MS ... the preferential support of Outlook, usage of MS proprietary rtf format for notes, ... and you are 100% right about the commissioning ... |

While Outlook is maddening in many respects, I have 10+ years of experience with it. Further, I have several Access databases that read my Outlook data for various functions.
I'm hooked and can't imagine leaving Outlook. I have my wife on Thunderbird because all she needs is a simple email client. Everything in my house is Ubuntu except my business laptop and my wife's laptop. As I develop familiarity with UR, I might switch some function over, but I'm not even close to that. What I need is to be able to store all my docs (*.pdf, *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, *.xml, *.mdb) in UR serving as an archive and be able to paste it into an Outlook email message when I have a client that needs it. Now I open the doc, save it to the desktop, and then attach it. I need a cleaner solution. |

You're right about Vista, I'm at least Vista SP1 away from upgrading on my brand new laptop.
