Import web page hangs UR
Attempting to import this web page: http://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/m...9?OpenDocument
causes UR to utilise 100% of one processor indefinitely (well, I left it for 15 minutes before deciding it wasn't going to work). If I click the Cancel button on the Importing Documents dialogue it again hangs and has to be closed with the task manager. I've tried it with a new UR database, too, so it's not that there's something wrong with my database. Any ideas? |

no ideas but can confirm all of what you described -- altho I didn't wait for 15 mins.

I affirm the same anomaly here as described by Dave. I also notice it occurs only for some webpages, though not all.

There's definitly something about the page or the site that causes problems, importing was going no where and Cancelling required a forced shutdown of UR.
Then I tried The Trick of Last Resort: From the webpage, right-click and Select All (Ctrl-A), then send to UR (via button or pop-up), imports in under one minute. I don't know what the technical explanation is for why this always seems to work, just glad that it does. |

ashkwen, thanks for the reminder about ctrl-A; I hadn't thought to try that. However, that doesn't get anywhere here either, and after pressing cancel I still have to shut down UR using task manager.

uhmmm, I wonder if this setting has any bearing on the effectiveness of Ctrl-A and web capture:
Tools | Options | Import (more) - Always use IE cached... this is selected on my system, as well as download scripts and images. Maybe Kinook can take a look and offer an opinion on this problem page. |

The main download at http://www.kinook.com/Download/UltraRecallProEval.exe has been updated with a fix for this issue (UltraRecall.exe 3.2.6.4 in Help | About | Install Info after installing).
