Unhappy Can't perform checkout

Hi,

Not able to checkout *.rc files. Getting error like

"xyz.rc is pinned to an older version.

Unpin this file or perform a rollback before attempting to check it out."

I checked on VSS that the file is not being pinned at all!!

Why is it that visual build complain that the file is being pinned to an older version???

Pls advise.

This message is coming from the VSS command-line tool (ss.exe). If you check the 'show command-line' option on the Options tab, the ss.exe command being invoked will be logged when building the step. You could use that information to open a support incident with Microsoft regarding this issue.

I am seeing the same issue. Any idea why this is not working? I am able to check out directly form VSS without any issues.

I figured it out. If you specify a "Version to Operate ON" in the properties of the VSS "CHECKOUT" and the label is older than the current version in VSS you will get this error.
