question regarding MS Office integration

When I open a Word document inside URP, I see pretty much the entire Word interface, including menus and the Ribbon. When I open an Excel file, I get only the data area. Is this how URP is supposed to integrate with MS Office.

My preference is to have the entire interface, unless there is some way to toggle it on and off, in which case a toggle would be better.

It's not up to UR how it looks, it's how MS office shows internally in IE.

OK - so is this the way it should be in IE or are there settings in IE that a user can change so that the menu and ribbon appear in Excel?

Thanks!

Hi Wordmuse,
My UR pops up Word/Excel as a new instance of Office app. And I don't see any problem with it.

Just one more little bit of info from what I noticed as I repeatedly tried to Excel to "behave."

The full interface does appear - for a fraction of a second. Then it disappears, and I'm left with the data-table area only. The tool bar and the ribbon are gone from view.

Don't know if this brings to light anything that might help...

"While Excel files allow some interactivity inside an Internet Explorer window, the typical Excel program menus will not be available unless the file is opened directly in Excel."
