Snooze all doesn't work
If UR pops up a list of, say, 4 reminders and I choose a reminder period and click the Snooze All button, the dialogue goes away but then pops up again a few minutes later. This keeps happening and the reminders won't go away until I Snooze each one individually.
How is Snooze All supposed to work? Last edited by dasymington; 10-09-2006 at 03:38 AM. |

It should cause the reminder for all items in the dialog to display again after the selected/entered snooze period. That's what it does in my tests. Please ZIP and send or post:
1) The info from Help | About | Install Info 2) A .urd file with reminders that demonstrate the problem 3) The snooze period you are entering/selecting Thanks. |

I can't send you the database because it's over 700 MB and has confidential data in it.
I've carried out some tests: it seems to work OK for 5 minutes, but if I want it to remind me again in 1 day, choosing that from the list or just accepting the displayed time, the items pop up again in 5 minutes. When that happens, if I then choose 10 minutes from the list and click Snooze All, the reminder for the items still pops up again 5 minutes, not 10. If you can't verify this, when I get a chance, I'll try it with a small test database that I can send you if it still happens in that. Last edited by dasymington; 10-10-2006 at 04:01 AM. |

I have the same problem. Each item has to be snoozed individually. If there are multiple reminders I want to snooze for an hour I have to select the snooze time then each item and select snooze. When they all pop up again in an hour the reminder period is still set to 1 hour and selecting snooze all works.
Conversly, If multiple items popup in the reminder window and I select a 1 hour reminder and snooze all the first reminder will snooze for an hour and rest will snooze for 5 minutes. |

This has been confirmed as a bug in Ultra Recall 2.0d. Currently Ultra Recall always uses a snooze delay value of 5 minutes when the Snooze All button is used (regardless of user selection).
The Ultra Recall 2.0d installation file(s) will be updated in the next few days. A new forum post will added when the updated install files are available for download. |

Version 2.0d of Ultra Recall has been updated to fix this reported "Snooze All" bug.
Simply download and re-install Ultra Recall 2.0d to obtain the fix for this issue. |

Thanks for the update. I've applied it and await some simultaneous reminders to pop up to check it's working.

Since applying the new update, UR has twice crashed. The icon disappears from the system tray. When I check in task manager, both UR processes appear to be running, but I have to kill them before I can start UR and access it again. On both occasions, as soon as UR started up the reminder dialogue appeared with some reminders in it, so it could be something to do with the reminders being triggered that's causing the crash.

The only change in that build was one line of code that only executes when you click the Snooze All button on the Reminder dialog, so it's unlikely that is the culprit. Were you doing anything in UR when this problem occurred? Was any error message displayed?

On both occasions I had been doing nothing in UR for sometime. UR was minimised and it was only when I wanted to open it that I discovered the error. No error message.
It's happened occasionally before so it's maybe just a coincidence that it's happened twice in quick succession. |

Since UR was inactive for a while, is it possible that the icon was automatically hidden by XP? To test this, you can uncheck the "hide inactive icons" property and see what happens.

No, I expanded the system tray and the icon wasn't there. In addition, I tried to start UR from the Start Button Menu, which would normally maximise the running instance, and it didn't.

The reason I asked is because I had a program that minimized to the system tray. After some time, XP decided it wasn't being used and hid it. It did not re-appear after the tray was expanded although the program was still running. This appears similar to your situation. After disabling auto hide (you can do this on a per program basis too), the problem was resolved.

Jon, no, I don't appear to have the same problem as you: UR normally maximises if I run the .exe again and on these occasions that wasn't happening either.

Sorry to hear that. In my case, the simplest explanation was correct. I hope it does not recur and, if it does, you solve the problem.
