Zip Error: "Zip file structure invalid"

I am getting an error "Zip file structure invalid" from the zip step. The Source folder is valid, and the dest zip file path is good.

The step produces the zip file and then dies with the error.

Any ideas?

I google'd but didn't find anything helpful.

We can't reproduce that behaviour here, can you create a reproduceable case? At a minimum we will need to see the configuration of the Zip Files step you are using (you can copy the step to the clipboard then paste to an email or a forum post, an xml fragment for the step will be pasted). But a reproduceable case (build file and folder that doesn't zip correctly) would be much better...

Is there anything unusual/invalid about the folder and/or file names being zipped?

It happens when the file already exists, and the "Action" is set to Add. If i delete the existing zip and rerun the step it runs successfully.

The zip step is:

<step action='ZIP Files' type='1'>
<Action type='3'>0</Action>
<Compression>5</Compression>
<Dest>%DIR_Build_Release%\%TMP_VDF%\ZIP\%TMP_VDF%. zip</Dest>
<Ext>*.*</Ext>
<Hidden type='11'>-1</Hidden>
<LogDetail type='11'>-1</LogDetail>
<Recurse type='11'>-1</Recurse>
<Source>%DIR_Staging%\%TMP_IX_ALLFLAVORS%</Source>
<indent type='3'>2</indent>
<name>Zip each flavor </name>
</step>

This has been confirmed as a bug in the current version. An updated dll (VisBuildExt.dll) is attached to this post that rectifies this particular error.

Installation instructions:
1) download the updated VisBuildExt.dll file (available zipped @ ftp://ftp.kinook.com/VisBuildExt.zip)
2) backup the VisBuildExt.dll file in your Visual Build Professional installation path
3) overwrite it with the updated VisBuildExt.dll file

Note: this is an interim fix, and will be included in the next minor release of Visual Build Professional. The attached, updated file only fixes this specific issue and has not been fully regression tested, only update this file if you are encountering the "Zip file structure invalid" error as reported in this forum thread.
