Toggle internal browser

I use UR to organize documents in PDF or Word format. What I like is the full-text index, the ability to add notes to each document, and the internal browser, which lets me view each document within UR. The last feature becomes a handicap though when I want to organize a bunch of documents. Each time I click on an item it takes a few seconds until the external editor module is loaded in the internal browser. I know I can go to the Options menu and delete .pdf and .doc from the list but I have to add it again later.
My proposal: clicking on an item while holding a modifier key (like Alt) selects the item without opening it in the internal browser – but lets me read the notes and edit the attributes.
