Messages imported from mbox format can be exported as documents (.eml) to recreate the individual MIME files (including attachments). I believe Thunderbird and other email apps can import these directly, and they can also be converted to mbox format via a free convertor, for instance:

Thanks, yes, the first option in export dialogue works as expected

Now the other thing, could Attachments attribute be mapped?

yes. Most of the emails (which don't have attachments) have written in the top part on item details:

Attachments: none

Those that have html version or pictures embedded have this as, for example:

Attachments: (untitled); (untitled); (untitled);

And when email has file attachments, ie. it is of type "Content-Type: multipart/mixed;", then it has file names in "Attachments", please see the attached picture. In this case, it would be nice if UR populates "Attachments" attribute with those file names, so that I could search for emails having attachments or exactly search for names of attached files.

Just wondering...

Why not "break out" the Attachments as Child Items of the email when brought into UR, then "re-assemble" them into the email upon export?

If new email is generated from within UR, these Child Items could be available to attach to the new email, or used in other ways within UR.

Because we want to retain the original document/message exactly as it was imported.
