After upgrading to Win11 24H2, UR flickers on launch
I started noticing this flickering behavior after applying the latest Win11 24H2 on my Surface Pro 8. When launching UR, it displays briefly at low resolution then resets to its normal resolution (on surface pro 8 defaults to 2880x1920).
Please, see link for a video showing the behavior. I tried several combination of compatibility settings, but no luck. Last edited by cnewtonne; 12-08-2024 at 06:21 PM. |

I can't glean much from that screen recording, but I am not experiencing that behavior with Windows 11 24H2 (OS Build 26100.2454). Possibly see if anything from here helps:

Thanks.
If you scrub through the video manually, you should be able to see it. At one point (second # 2), you'll see how UR stars with very low resolution then towards the end, it resizes itself to the correct screen resolution. It does that every time it starts or when I start a new urd database. |

If I disable the compatibility settings for ultrarecall.exe, the app's UI gets too small to be readable. It looks just ugly.
With compatibility settings enabled, it really looks great on high resolution screens like the Surface Pro 8, for example. This flickering issue is rather an end-user experience annoyance specially for an app that is Windows-native. Last edited by cnewtonne; 12-09-2024 at 01:14 PM. |
