Note taking with UR
What is the easiest way to take short notes (e.g. ideas, reminders, future projects, study notes) with UR? At this point, it seems to me that I have to go to the Data Explorer, click a spot, insert a child, select the template, then write. In comparison, with MS OneNote, there is a sidenote function that pops up from the system tray. Very easy to use.
Any suggestions? |

A few suggestions to minimize the number of steps to insert some directly entered text (notes) into Ultra Recall:
- Use Win+Z (or the shortcut of your choice) to focus Ultra Recall - Add the location you want to the add the notes to as a Favorite in Ultra Recall, and assign a shortcut to this favorite. - Assign the appropriate Default Child Template value for this location, so the Ins key will create the appropriate type Info Item. The sequence to add a new "Note" Info Item would then be: 1a) Press Win+Z (or the alternative activation shortcut you define), then enter the Favorites shortcut for the location you want to add the new text or 1b) Right-click the UR system tray icon, then drill down to the appropriate Favorites entry 2) Hit the Ins Key to insert a new Info Item 3a) [optional] change the Info Item name 3b) Hit the Tab key to focus the Item Details Pane and enter the text |
