IE: No page to display

I have UR configured to use my default browser (Opera) externally and to display pdf within UR. My document template is associated with a form so I can see at a glance the URL for that document. The first time I go to a pdf, IE opens with the window titled, "No page to display." UR does display the pdf item as expected and I just close the IE window. All items opened subsequently do so without the IE window re-appearing.

If the form is removed from the Document template, the IE window never appears. This is a minor annoyance. Is this unavoidable?
