drag and drop of urls

Hi,

It used to be that when I dragged a URL shortcut from the URP3 address bar or from a website (either in FireFox or in URP3 itself), to the Explorer Pane, then the URL was processed as a URL and clicking the item displayed the related website.

Now however, I get a text link in the Detail Pane. The link works, but it's an extra click to get to the website.

I think I have the file associations in the Options dialogs set correctly.

Any idea what might be going on?

Thanks.

Bal

Do you have 'Tools | Options | Import | Prefer text/rich text clipboard formats' checked?

Howdy...

ashwken - no, the default child item is URL which, when created from scratch as a child item, behaves as it should. But when I drag a URL from anywhere into the Explorer Pane - regardless of the default child for that item, the result is a text item with the URL shown in Details Pane.

Kinook - yep - rich text is preferred on import.

Bal

You'll need to uncheck that option, since dragging a URL also puts text format in the clipboard/drag data.
