set default attribute value

Hi,

there must be a way to define to what value certain attributes are set when a new item is created, but I can't find documentation on that.

For example, I want all new task to have attribute '@next action' set to 'no' by default, and '@category' set to 'blank' by default. (I am using the GTD template).

Also, is there any way to program a shortcut to change an attribute?

thanks!
Tom

go to "Templates" folder, and change the attributes of the given template, which will stand for default values.

Hmmm, I had tried that and for some reason concluded that it didn't work. But of course you are right, that's the way to go. Simple and efficient (and tailorable to each items, which is more than what I was asking for).

thanks!

no, but you can create a form with the attribute that need to be changed often, and assign it to a template.
